Our History
HiDef, Inc. was founded in 2003 for two reasons. We wanted to work in what we believed in, and we wanted to love what we did. We began taking on clients in our personal network, becoming known for great design, attention to detail, and a can-do attitude.
With a deep passion for technology, along with a deep belief that we were here to make a positive impact, HiDef has grown to become a top-tier strategy, design and development firm with a powerful team serving social enterprises around the world.
Our Purpose
At HiDef we work on what we believe in and love what we do. Our skills in strategy, design and development form a powerful trifecta for the great causes we serve. Yet we also base our work on the ever important question… what’s the point? Before we can talk process, we have to know purpose. At HiDef we seek to:
- Understand – We are a curious bunch at HiDef. Scientists and skiers, alpha geeks and philanthropists. We strive to understand the world around us. We cultivate friendships with organizations and individuals who are having an impact.
- Innovate - We love to try new things. Once we understand something, we try to do the unexpected, try new ideas and run experiments. Innovate or die.
- Collaborate – The approach is contagious. We’re nothing without a trusted team to whom we can bring new ideas, work together and ensure the best ideas rise.
- Build - We love to build. In the grand scheme, this is all just lego sets and model rockets as far as we’re concerned — with vast potential. We know that playthings can become world changing things, and we’re honored that our partner-clients give us an outlet for our imagination.
Our Process
We’re about partners, not projects, and our process reflects it.
When we find the right partner, we become their “go-to” for Internet-based technology solutions, partly because we have that can-do attitude, and partly because we offer a great set of services.
Our process revolves around the idea that we can establish a deep level of trust in each other as members of the same team. Trust, passion, and accountability lead to amazing solutions with constant and rapid iteration.

- Environmental Sustainability
HiDef is actively developing its Absolute Zero initiative which is an aggressive environmental campaign. Due to our distributed nature, we already have a low footprint, but we believe that more needs to be done and that we can lead by example. - Open Source Technologies
