Our HiDef team, working closely with our client Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH), recently developed the Bible.is™ app for deaf users. Bringing together the Deaf Missions ASL videos and the ASL JESUS Film, Deaf Bible.is™ ASL is an app that provides sacred content to a Deaf audience in a way that has never been done in any other app. This joint collaborative effort amongst the organizations fills a need in the app market, and I hope that it sparks support for similar apps. Deaf Bible.is™ ASL is one of the first apps designed specifically for the Deaf with an understanding that seeing scripture in your heart language can speak to you in ways that a second language will never fully match.

Recently, HiDef attended the Harvard International Development Conference at the Harvard Kennedy School, which was ironically titled “The End of Development.” The keynote speakers were inspiring, the crowd was eager to change the world, and the message was clear: International Development is at the beginning of a new era. The HiDef team went above and beyond as we worked closely together to develop our first ever global fundraising initiative, Playing For Change Day. They developed our web platform, created engaging graphics for our outreach, and closely tracked our donations and our participating volunteers around the world. Their dedication to our cause was evident at every step of the way, prodding us to go further and to ask more of them than we imagined we could. Our point person at HiDef delivered thoughtful and speedy responses to all of our questions, ideas, or concerns, and they met deadlines throughout the process. The highest recommendation that I can give is probably just to say that we are hiring them again for our second year!

The goal of the Opportunity Collaboration is to promote partnerships and collaborations amongst individuals and organizations working in the social sector.
